Mummy Hot Dogs
These mummy hot dogs are definitely a dessert that adults and kids alike will love. The classic hot dogs,layer with cheese, wrapped in a crescent roll, and baked until the top of the dough is golden.
Ingredients
- 8 hot dogs
- 8 oz crescent roll sheet (or crescent roll dough)
- 2 slices American cheese, quartered
- Cooking spray
- Ketchup or mustard
Practice
step 1Preheat oven to 375°F.
step 2Open your crescent roll package and unroll the dough.Separate at perforations, creating 4 rectangles. Press perforations to seal. Using a knife or kitchen shears, cut each rectangle of dough lengthwise into 1/3-inch strips.
step 3Cut each cheese slice into quarters. Wrap 1/4 slice of cheese under one hot dog and 3 pieces of dough to wrap cheese and hot dog. Stretch the dough slightly and wrap around to make them look like "bandages". There is a gap at one end of each hot dog, which is the mummy's face.
step 4Place the wrapped hot dogs on a parchment lined baking sheet, cheese side down. Repeat the above steps for the remaining hot dogs.Then lightly spray the dough with cooking spray.
step 5Use a digital thermometer for cooking to check the temperature. Bake for 12-17 mins, or until the dough is golden brown and the hot dog is hot.
step 6Remove from oven and let cool at room temperature for 5 mins. Put a dab of ketchup or mustard on the back of the candy eyes then decorate the mummy dog's face.
